For nearly two decades, supporting RCB was not just fandom—it was a test of patience, loyalty, and occasionally, emotional stability.
Every IPL season began with hope. Every IPL season ended with memes and somehow, the fans kept coming back.
For 18 long years, Royal Challengers Bengaluru gave cricket fans everything except one thing consistently—IPL titles. The franchise had legendary players like Gayle, ABD, Steyn, Kallis etc ., massive fan support, packed stadiums, record-breaking performances, and social media dominance.
Yet here we are today.
RCB has now lifted its second IPL title and no, this wasn’t just another season where a few star players carried the team. This felt different. This looked different. More importantly, this team was built differently.
The Biggest Change: A Winning Culture
Ask any successful sports team what separates champions from contenders, and you’ll hear the same answer.
Culture
This RCB side looked like a group that genuinely believed it could win every match regardless of the situation.
Earlier when wickets fall we (RCB fans) used to say we have ಆಪ್ತಬಂಧವ (i.e. A B D) and if his wicket is gone then the team will collapse that was the situation and the picture has been changed, When wickets fell, no one would panic, When pressure arrived, they didn’t search for a hero. The team responded together.
If a league match is lost cool there is no blame on any player.
That is what a winning culture looks like.
Perhaps the first time in a very long time, RCB displayed it consistently throughout an IPL season. When opponents fought back, nobody looked defeated.
The Fans Deserve This More Than Anyone
The biggest winners are the fans. Imagine supporting a team for nearly two decades. Imagine hearing jokes every season.
Imagine defending your team in every office discussion, WhatsApp group, and social media argument (Moreover by CSK fans). Then imagine finally watching them lift another IPL title. No wonder the celebrations feel emotional.A Lesson Beyond Cricket
RCB’s journey offers a lesson that goes beyond sports.
Success rarely arrives overnight. Sometimes it takes years of failures.
Years of criticism
Years of rebuilding.
It’s about years of belief being rewarded.
Years of being told you cannot do it.
And then one season, everything clicks. That is exactly what happened with RCB.
The second IPL title wasn’t built in a single season. It was built over years of lessons, heartbreaks, near misses, and constant support from fans who refused to give up.
To the management and players—thank you for finally giving RCB fans something other than hope to celebrate. For years, supporters carried faith, endured jokes, defended the team in endless debates, and kept believing despite the disappointments. By lifting this title, you have honored that unwavering loyalty and rewarded a fan base that never stopped standing behind the team.
